We are excited to announce a new strategic collaboration with the Enlighten (nExt geNeration 1200V eLectric hIGH VOLTAGE powErtraiN) project, our European-funded “sister” initiative. Like ODYSSEV, Enlighten is at the forefront of revolutionizing propulsion systems for high-voltage electric vehicles. Both initiatives are proud members of the 2Zero partnership.

Launched in January 2025 with a roadmap extending to December 2028, the project is led by a high-profile consortium coordinated by the AIT (Austrian Institute of Technology).

As Europe moves toward the decarbonization of transportation, Enlighten addresses the barriers that still limit the deployment of electric vehicles: range, charging times, and production costs. The project focuses on a cutting-edge propulsion architecture based on a 1200V standard.

Enlighten’s technological cornerstone lies in the use of gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors, which enable extremely fast switching and drastically reduce energy losses and component size. Furthermore, the project is developing a reconfigurable dual-voltage battery pack, capable of intelligently adapting between driving and charging modes, ensuring full compatibility with current charging stations (500V/1000V).

The ODYSSEV and Enlighten teams share the same mission for electrification, with ODYSSEV focusing on passenger vehicles and Enlighten focusing on heavy-duty vehicles. This collaboration was born from the desire to create a common front, which will materialize through joint sessions at major international conferences and through mutual support to maximize the impact and dissemination of the results achieved.
