We are pleased to strengthen collaboration with HiVEP (High-Voltage fast-charging Efficient electric vehicle Powertrains), a Horizon Europe project funded under the same topic as ODYSSEV, and member of the 2Zero partnership. HiVEP focuses on advancing next-generation high-voltage (>800 V) electric vehicle powertrains for mass-market battery-electric vehicles.

Launched in February 2025 and running until July 2028, the HiVEP project brings together leading European research organisations, universities, and industrial partners collaborating on developing efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective high-voltage powertrain technologies.

HiVEP aims to enable ultra-fast charging capabilities below 10 minutes while improving energy efficiency, driving range, and overall system sustainability. The project develops advanced solutions including high-voltage power electronics based on SiC technologies, integrated chargers and inverters, rare-earth-free electric machines with Active Winding Reconfiguration, advanced thermal management, and intelligent energy management strategies.

A key aspect of HiVEP is its holistic system-level approach, combining vehicle integration, powertrain optimisation, validation activities, and sustainability considerations such as reduced material usage and enhanced circularity.

ODYSSEV and HiVEP share a common ambition to accelerate the development of high-voltage electric powertrains and support Europe’s transition towards zero-emission mobility. Following initial exchanges between the two projects, both consortia expressed strong interest in pursuing joint dissemination activities, conference collaborations, and mutual support for communication and visibility actions within the 2Zero ecosystem.

We look forward to collaborating closely with HiVEP and following the project’s contribution to the next generation of electric vehicles.
