CIRCE

CIRCE is a technology center founded in 1993 that helps companies tackle energy and sustainability challenges by anticipating future needs and transferring technological solutions.

It strengthens business competitiveness through applied R&D&I, high value-added technology transfer services, and market-oriented training.

CIRCE’s work focuses on sustainability and resource efficiency, energy networks, and renewable energies, supported by three pillars: research, transfer, and training.

The center is fully self-funded, with its financing coming from competitive public programmes and private contracts.

Fachhochschule Dortmund

With around 14,000 students and 900 employees, including 250 professors, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHDO) is one of the ten largest universities of applied sciences in Germany.

The university´s research profile is characterized by several interdisciplinary research priorities, one of them named Cloud Energy Lab, in which Prof. Dr. Thoben is a member.

University College London

University College London, Advanced Propulsion Lab (APL) is a cutting-edge electrical system engineering centre for the development and characterisation of high-power and energy, zero-carbon propulsion systems.

University of Twente

The University of Twente (UT) Power Electronics Group (Faculty EEMCS) develops converter hardware, control, protection, and validation methods for high-efficiency, high power-density electrified transport and energy systems.

In ODYSSEV, UT contributes traction inverter research by developing and experimentally validating modular high-voltage converter concepts, including device/gate-drive integration (SiC MOSFETs and IGBTs), protection functions, and performance characterisation.

The group provides prototype hardware and measurement-driven design trade-offs across efficiency, thermal limits, power density, cost, and reliability to support OEM-relevant operating requirements and system integration

University of Bremen

The University of Bremen was founded in 1971 and was a “university of excellence” of the German government between 2012 and 2019.

Having about 300 professorships and 19,000 students, the university is of medium size in Germany. Its 12 faculties offer a wide range of disciplines and internationally competitive top-level research.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, located in Stockholm, Sweden, is the country's largest technical university, established in 1827. Known for its strong focus on engineering and technology, KTH conducts extensive research and offers a wide range of educational programs across five schools.

Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH)

The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), established in March 2000, is a non-profit research institution governed by private law and supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation of the Greek Ministry of Development.

As one of Greece’s leading research centres, CERTH conducts basic, applied, and technological research in areas including clean and sustainable energy, climate and environment, advanced materials, digitalisation and industrial innovation.
